It's a certainty that Windows has some data in its Registry which is not meant for your eyes. EncryptedRegView can locate such data, decrypt it and place it right in front of you. If you want to see what your operating system or third party applications don't want you to know, this lightweight utility is perfect for the job.

You can have the application up and running in no time, because it comes as a single executable and it doesn't need to be installed. It works on all popular Windows versions and it doesn't have any special requirements.

Once you run the application, it will immediately display an options menu, on which you can tell it where and how to scan. You can set it to scan the Registry of your operating system or the Registry on a removable drive. There are also a few input fields, in which you have to fill in paths and a Windows user account password, but for the most fields, an auto-fill option is available.

When you complete your initial settings, the application will start scanning automatically. The scanned keys are listed on the upper half of the interface and you can view their contained information on the lower half. Besides key names and paths, the application also displays their value names, decrypted values and many other details, in the same list. The same information can be found in a more convenient layout on a properties window, if you select a key and hit a button on a toolbar.

Any locked information in the system's Registry can be unlocked in just a few seconds, thanks to EncryptedRegView straightforward information.

Pros

The application provides a wide range of information. You can scan the Registry on your own system or on a removable drive. The scanning process doesn't take more than a minute.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to mention.
